7/15) Absence of German human testimonies

7) Absence of German human testimonies

Robert Faurisson :

"German public opinion was not aware of a programme of extermination of European Jews during the war.

The German public only became aware of the alleged genocide of European Jews when American and British troops entered the German concentration camps at the end of World War II. The horrific scenes of huge piles of corpses and emaciated and sick surviving prisoners were filmed and photographed for posterity by the U.S. Army Signal Corps. The films of the horrific scenes in the camps were made compulsory for the defeated German population, so that their national pride would be destroyed and replaced by a sense of collective guilt.

Moreover, none of the defendants in the Nuremberg Trial claimed to know of any German programme of extermination of Jews during the war.

Hermann Göring, Hans Frank, Ernst Kaltenbrunner, Albert Speer, General Alfred Jodl and the other Nuremberg defendants all denied knowledge of a programme to exterminate the Jews of Europe. Although these testimonies are often dismissed as untruthful, the categorical and consistent nature of their testimony, sometimes by men who thought they would be hanged, suggests that they are telling the truth. »

Moreover, none of the wartime generals who wrote their memoirs after the war made any reference to the homicidal gas chambers or even to the intention to exterminate an ethnic group.
